Hey there! My name is Yati, and I’m from Malaysia. Charley Come Home is pretty much a one-person show (well, one person plus one cat) and I take care of everything, from making the items I sell to photography and marketing and accounting.

I started sewing when I was a little girl, taught by a very patient aunt. It was nothing particularly in-depth, though: just how to operate a machine and sew a straight line, the basics of hand sewing. A lot of stuff I learned on my own, thanks to the internet.

I opened a shop on Etsy and Shopee when my sewing creations caught the interest of friends on Facebook and they were encouraging me to sell the things I made, and I haven’t looked back since!

When I’m not sewing, I’m a freelance editor. I have ten years of experience and my speciality is non-fiction books, articles and reports, with a special interest in science, technology and engineering. Email me if you need my services and I’ll give you a quote.

I also enjoy reading. You can find me on Goodreads, where I update my reading progress a bit too obsessively.

Charley is a rescue cat, and he came to live with me in 2011. If you’re curious where the shop got its name, check out the story here.
